The Muckrach, a luxury 11-bedroomed hotel, is currently undergoing a major renovation and will open on the site of a former Victorian shooting Lodge in the Scottish highlands later this year.
With the planned opening set to take place in May 2015, the restoration of the building set in Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park is firmly underway.
Plans for the Muckrach Country House Hotel include 11 individually-designed bedrooms complete with luxurious furnishings and contemporary bathrooms, In addition, dog-friendly garden suites will be offered.
The ground level will feature a library, drawing room and Piano bar with log burning stoves and a restaurant with a focus on homemade, local produce.
Since January 2014, the Cowap family have been working hard to restore the lodge to its former glory with a contemporary, yet Victorian feel. The family currently manage their multi award winning Cheshire business ‘The Hollies Farm Shop’ comprising of farm shops, coffee shops, butcheries, deli, gift barn and forest lodges.
Once part of the Seafield estate, the property, which is set in 10 acres, surrounded by pastureland and a Scottish castle, was previously a vibrant hub for shooting and skiing parties during the 1900’s.
