The group people and development director at Malmaison and Hotel du Vin has moved over to a similar role with Village Hotel Club.
Lindsay Southward has been announced as the brand’s new director of people and brand development, and joins following the opening of the chain’s 30th hotel in December and plans to open an additional 20 hotels by 2026.
Southward had previously been at Malmaison and Hotel du Vin since 2013, working as group people and development director for the past four years.
Prior to her time at Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin, Lindsay was the head of learning and development for the De Vere group, after previously working as the PD manager for Village Hotels Cluster in 2008-2009 and the HR manager for Village Hotel Wirral from 2004-2009.
Now in her new role, Southward’s remit will encompass HR, people, training and learning and development.
Focusing on the development of the brand, Southward will also be responsible for driving a strong positive influence across all of Village Hotel Club’s operational standards and to deliver major steps forward in the hotel’s continued commitment to guest excellence.
Gary Davis, executive chairman of Village Hotel Club, said: “I’m delighted that Lindsay is re-joining Village Hotel Club at such an exciting time for the business. Lindsay brings a wealth of experience across People & Development, and I very much look forward to seeing her help develop these critical areas of the business in order to further drive through our brand strength and subsequent growth.”
On her new role, Lindsay Southward said: “I am very much looking forward to taking on this new role – especially at such a time of positive change following the launch of Village Green last year. This is a great initiative that not only helps to show the great variety of what Village has to offer, but also recognises that local community really is key to every aspect of our business.”
