Ian and Christa Taylor have made a significant contribution to leisure and tourism industry, with ownership of five of Bath’s independent hotels in the last six years.
Never afraid to stretch/break the boundaries of traditional hospitality, Ian and Christa are known within the industry for their tireless creativity and innovative approach and strive constantly to create and offer something truly different.
Their proudly independent Kaleidoscope Collection has grown considerably during 2018 and currently includes three properties; No.15 Great Pulteney, The Bird, Bath and Homewood.
No.15 has had a stellar performance in the last 12 months, with a growth in profit of 15% as a result in increased revenue across all key areas. They’ve also added a hugely profitable spa.
The re-brand of The Bird, Bath (previously The County Hotel) saw the creation of 11 new bedrooms, a meeting room and Bath’s first pop-up beach and a Winter Wonderland for the festive season. April to Dec 2018 saw profit up 163% year on year.
Since Homewood was acquired in August, Ian and Christa have purchased the lodge next door to secure the hotel’s future. They’ve rebranded, started refurbishing bedrooms, transformed the public areas, fitted a new kitchen and begun restoring the gardens. August to Dec 2018 saw profit up 47% year on year.
Ian and Christa are committed to giving back and forging strong relationships with local businesses and the community. In 2018 they’ve invested in two hospitality start-ups, supported artists from Bath Spa University and contributed significantly to fund arts events, festivals, exhibitions, charity initiatives and creative networks.
