Mitre Hotel at Hampton Court has been sold after being under family ownership for almost 30 years.
The 36-bedroom hotel has been sold to Signet Hotel Group, a newly-formed partnership spearheaded by Hector Ross, the former COO at pub group Bel & The Dragon.
Ross also boasts experienced with Longshot Holdings, the company behind Beaverbrook.
The Mitre dates back to 1666, having originally been used as an ancillary accommodation for the palace and then rebuilt in the mid-18th century.
Now the property is home to 36 bedrooms with a bar, restaurant and events facilities, all overlooking the River Thames.
Paul Hardwick, head of hotels at Fleurets commented: “With my colleague James Davies and joint agent Alex Campbell at Christie & Co, we were able to utilise our combined experience in the market to source and approach an exclusive purchaser list. We are proud to be involved with the sale of such an iconic property and look forward to seeing it evolve after the investment Signet Hotel Group has planned for later this year.”
