Multi-million pound hotel refurb approaches final stages

The final phase of a major refurbishment of the Swan at Streatley, West Berkshire, has begun.

The hotel hopes the investment will restore it to its former glory and make the most of its picturesque location. It expects the re-launch of the hotel to take place somewhere in the middle of next year.

Plans include a total redesign of the restaurant and bar area, back of house as well as an entirely new, contemporary meeting and events space and wedding venue overlooking the river, Newbury Today reported.

The last phase of the renovations of the bedrooms are scheduled to be completed and will include the hotel’s most luxurious rooms, which are designed to be in keeping with the listed building’s heritage.

Although the restaurant is currently closed while this work is being carried out, 23 recently renovated rooms are still being offered for accommodation.

A statement on the Swan at Streatley’s website read: “We’re really excited about this final stage and would like to thank everybody for their support and patience so far. We’re confident that it will be worth the wait.”
