Seaham Hall has appointed a new general manager.
The luxury boutique hotel in Durham has appointed Nathan White to oversee the historic property, Serenity spa and fine dining restaurant, Byron’s.
White joins Seaham Hall from his role as hotel manager at the Crowne Plaza Battersea in London, where he was for two years.
Prior to this, he gained experience as food and beverage manager at Swinton Park and restaurant and bar manager at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel.
White, who told BH he was ‘extremely honoured’ to be offered the position of general manager at Seaham Hall, will now work closely with managing director Ross Grieve to drive forward the hotel and its direction.
White is the first general manager to be appointed at Seaham Hall since Grieve was promoted to managing director in September 2015.
Grieve says: “It’s great to welcome Nathan to the team at Seaham Hall, he has a wealth of relevant experience to share. His strong operational background will allow me and the owners a chance to look at the strategic direction of our award-winning boutique property, managing the ongoing investment and innovation programme to ensure that we remain one of the most desirable and welcoming places to stay in the North East.”
Commenting on his new role, White tells BH: “I knew Seaham Hall to be an amazing hotel since the early 2000s. In recent years the hotel has gone from strength to strength and cemented its place not only as of leading hotels in the North East but the country.”
