A refurbished award-winning Welsh hotel has gone on the market, with an opportunity to become leaseholder of the property for the next ten years.

Tynrhyd Retreat opened in 2015, following a £1m renovation process by its current owners Gareth and Siân Price, with the support of the Welsh Government’s Business Wales service.

The property now features 15 bedrooms, situated in 13 acres of land, with the interiors featuring Welsh oak beams and flooring as well as the use of local Welsh slate and stone.

The hotel also features a sustainable low cost operating model of self-supply of water and biomass heating.

Tynrhyd Retreat has won a number of awards, including: a Level 4 Certificate for the Code for Sustainable Homes, a five-star grading from Visit Wales, LABC Wales Commendation in Quality Building Excellence as well as being a Welsh Government approved conference and accommodation venue.

The premise has been passed down through five generations.

The current owners Gareth and Siân Price commented: “Our venue is proving particularly popular with tourists and walkers, as well as being a fantastic venue for wedding parties, corporate events, and international touring groups, seeking a quality Welsh experience here in the heart of Wales.”

Leisure property specialist Fleurets is marketing the property, which is available on a new 10 year lease, with a £70,000 premium.

Andrew Whelan of Fleurets commented: “This is a unique business and a lifestyle opportunity for a potential purchaser. It offers luxury accommodation with flexibility; as the main building is divided into wings, each with their own kitchen and lounge, and therefore allowing the operator to let the building as a whole, individual rooms or a wing. At the same time the communal areas can be used for functions and weddings. The property is surrounded by stunning countryside and we highly recommend this property.”
