A new boutique aparthotel is preparing to open in Aldgate East, offering views of London landmarks, The Shard, The Gherkin and Brick Lane.
The Gate is spread across 20 floors and 189 rooms, with Aga Rosinska appointed as general manager to head up the new venture.
Each apartment comprises features such as cooking facilities, Hypnos beds, soundbars with Bluetooth connectivity and Nespresso machines.
F&B concept Maple & Co will be opening its eighth venture at the new property on the ground floor, with New York fragrance brand, Le Labo, supplying the in-room amenities.
On the fifth floor there will be a members lounge and staff will be called ‘Gatekeepers’ on hand to offer advice on local attractions.
A boutique gym will be home to Technogym equipment and Peloton bikes.
Partners include Maddox Gallery, who has curated the artwork around the hotel including a Banksy in the lobby and Retna, Bradley Theodore and The Connor Brothers pieces displayed in the private members lounge, making the property their new East London Gallery.
Aga Rosinska, general manager at The Gate Aparthotel said: “The idea for The Gate aparthotel was born out of traditional gate and guesthouses, where people would socialise in communal spaces then retreat to their private rooms. The gatehouses would often be right on the edge of a city, so guests could use the property as a base to explore the surrounding neighbourhoods easily. We wanted to recreate this offering and atmosphere for a modern audience.”
