New general manager appointed to oversee three London hotels in the Starhotels portfolio

Thomas James Orchard has been appointed as complex general manager of the Starhotels Collezione London Complex, comprising The Franklin, The Gore and The Pelham.

Orchard joins from the Caribbean where he was managing director and general manager at Carlisle Bay, Antigua and replaces Maurizio Redaelli, who departs the role with Starhotels in January after acquiring his own hotel in the New Forest.

Orchard boasts over 30 years of experience, with London position at The Berkeley and COMO Hotels and Resorts.

In 2000, he was general manager at COMO The Halkin, and then moved to lead COMO Metropolitan London until 2005.

He assumed the role of regional general manager until 2018, managing both properties and the COMO Metropolitan London Apartments.

The Franklin, opened in 2016 and designed by Anouska Hempel, comprises 35 bedrooms and The Franklin Restaurant by Alfredo Russo..

Established in 1892, The Gore is an icon of British hospitality with 50 bedrooms and suites, housed in a townhouse in Queen’s Gate.

The Pelham comprises 52 bedrooms plus a signature restaurant La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo.

Starhotels, a private Italian hotel company operating in the upscale and upper scale & luxury sectors, comprising 29 hotels located in the top Italian cities, London, Paris and New York, for a total of 4,100 rooms.
