Solberge Hall in Northallerton has appointed a new general manager who is looking to boost the hotel’s reputation in the local community.

The 24-bedroom hotel, which has been part of the Classic Lodges portfolio since August 2015, has welcomed Dale Needham to the role who is keen to show off the hotel’s facilities to the region.

Needham has been GM at a number of hotels in Yorkshire, including two and a half years at the Lazaat in Cottingham and overseeing the rebrand and relaunch of the Darlington Kings hotel following a fire.

He was also previously at the Novotel in Bradford.

Speaking on his new role, Needham says: “Solberge Hall is a fabulous venue for all visitors – whether that’s those that just want to pop in for a beer or an afternoon tea, or those that want to have dinner and stay over – there is something for everyone here.

“Since I joined a few weeks ago we have arranged some barbecues for the summer that I hope many locals will come along to,” he says. “We’ve also extended the Christmas party period – so those that are busy with work and family can enjoy some down time in November before the real festivities begin and continue the festive spirit into January so not to feel too sad that the season is coming to an end!”

Managing director of Classic Lodges, Richard Grime comments: “Dale is one of those general managers that wants to roll up his sleeves and get involved straight away. The team are feeling re-energised and focused, and we are seeing an increase in the number of people showing an interest in Solberge as a wedding venue and conference and event venue too.”
