The Beach at Bude, a boutique hotel and restaurant on the north Cornish coast, has welcomed a new head chef to the team.
Jamie Coleman has recently crossed the border from Devon, where he was head chef at The Masons Arms, a one Michelin-starred restaurant on Exmoor.
He replaces Joe Simmonds who helped the restaurant to achieve 2 AA Rosettes.
He joins the restaurant with a wealth of experience, including two years working at Claridge’s under Gordon Ramsay, and two years at Gidleigh Park with Michael Caines.
Coleman was also crowned ‘South West Chef of the Year’ in 2016, and has previously appeared on BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals.
He said: “I am looking forward to making my mark at The Beach a Bude. Having grown up in Devon, I have a real passion for the west country and believe the south west has some of the best ingredients on offer in the UK.”
Menus will continue to evolve under Jamie’s leadership, including the reintroduction of the hotel’s popular set lunch offer.
The Beach is also hosting a selection of wine tasting dinners throughout 2019.
Susie Daniel, owner of The Beach at Bude said: “We are delighted to welcome Jamie to the team, and have been receiving great feedback since he joined us.
“He brings a wealth of experience and fresh ideas to the role and we are excited to see how he develops our restaurant here at The Beach at Bude.”
The 17-bedroom boutique is owned by Will and Susie Daniel.
