A new luxury hotel will be built in Cheshire, as part of £70m development of a new female-friendly football facility.

The new hotel will be created on the 60-acre site in Northwich in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council and ION Developments, who are promising to create a ‘leading centre’ for the provision of women and girls’ football.

The 150-bedroom hotel will become home to a luxury spa and conference facilities, meeting rooms, fine-dining restaurant and bar and lounge.

It will be situated on site alongside 1,000 seat stadium, 2 3G pitches, 6 grass pitches, a dedicated ‘Youth Zone’ as well as education facilities as the facility bids to become a ‘best in class’ football environment.

The site is also in talks with a Women’s Super League 1 club to become a partner.

If given the green light, the new development will take appropriately 18 months to complete.

Steve Parry, managing director, Ion Development said: “We are greatly looking forward to bringing what will become a world-class football centre with luxury hotel to Cheshire. The finished development will not only enhance Cheshire’s brilliant reputation as a footballing destination and bring hotel rooms to a thriving region,  but will also give women and girls football the much needed state-of-the-art facilities to help reach its full potential.”
