New Inn let to high profile Cotswolds hospitality operator famed for serving former PM

Established hospitality operator Archie Orr-Ewing has added the New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns near Bibury to his ever-expanding Cotswolds portfolio.

Orr-Ewing – who famously served former Prime Minister David Cameron and his guest Francois Hollande during a break from EU talks in January 2014 – has a high profile in the Cotswolds, and the addition of the New Inn is an exciting development, according to Colliers International hotels director Peter Brunt.

Orr-Ewing’s current portfolio includes the Swan Inn at Swinbrook near Burford, on a lease from the Mitford family trust, and the Kings Head at Bledington near Stow-on-the-Wold.

His newest addition, the 15-bedroom New Inn, has been under the same ownership since 2014, who bought the hotel as part of their wedding barn collection, but have now decided to return to their core business.

Brunt said the New Inn, which alongside its 15 bedrooms has 65 covers, had been marketed very confidentially and had attracted strong interest, as have all the residential inns in the Cotswolds that Colliers has handled this year.

“Unashamedly upmarket, the New Inn caters for a well-heeled local population which ensures the very highest standards are expected and delivered,” he said.
