A Hampshire hotel has been sold, with the incoming owner now planning to reinvigorate the business with a new restaurant in partnership with a runner up from Masterchef.
GA Gourmet has purchased Old House Hotel in Wickham from B+B Wickham Ltd, which has four b&b businesses and restaurants across the country.
Now the new owner Andy Goodson is planning to invest £250k in a refurbishment at the property and the creation of a new restaurant with Greg Emmerson, who featured in the 2018 series of Masterchef.
The new eatery will be named Table 22, with the Grade-II listed property now due to close in order for the renovation to be carried out.
The hotel is also home to 12 bedrooms.
Andy Goodson, owner of GA Gourmet Ltd, said: “I ran a successful property business for 23 years and was looking for a new venture, so when the opportunity arose to take over Old House Hotel in Wickham Square I wanted to grab it with both hands.
“I’ll be partnering with my daughter Gemma Goodson, a Wickham local, and culinary expert Greg Emmerson to run the business. Our goal is to make it the most popular hotel in the area coupled with a superb fine dining restaurant.”
B+B Wickham Ltd operates four other bed and breakfast businesses and restaurants in London, Weymouth, York and Edinburgh under the B+B collection.
The Wickham property has been sold to enable the group to focus on its existing estate and to acquire larger opportunities nationally.
Savills advised B+B Wickham Ltd.
