Alongside The Kirkwall Hotel, Dent also owns three other hotels and two bars and boasts extensive experience in the hospitality industry.

He said: “There is something for everyone at The Kirkwall Hotel, from comfortable rooms and a popular restaurant, to live music throughout the week. We are already looking to expand our busy team, and are confident that the business will go from strength to strength in the coming months.

“I am grateful to Royal Bank of Scotland for the funding and ongoing support of the business. I look forward to being able to update the hotel and help it reach its full potential, offering a luxurious but affordable stay to locals and tourists alike.”
