The new owners of Seiont Manor Hotel in Gwynedd have revealed their ambitious plans for expansion in a bid to tap into the local market.

Paul and Rowena Williams, from Rural Retreats & Leisure, took on the hotel from Hand Picked Hotels, who put the property on the market for £2m in November 2015.

Now they are planning a series of developments, including holidays lodges, yurts and treehouses, plus a new function room and expanded spa, to encourage more local people to visit.

The couple said that Seiont Manor Hotel in its current state wasn’t sustainable as a business, and so looked at improving trading through various other revenue streams and securing the 42 jobs at the property when they purchased the hotel.

Rowena said: “The first step is to consult with them using the pre planning application advice service which they offer. We have shown on the plans the areas which we wish to develop and improve.

“The key is to transform the outlook and focus of the hotel to the lake and surrounding meadows. This can easily be achieved by extending the restaurant which will also allow us to take more diners.

“The space below the restaurant extension would be used to improve the health spa and gym facilities.”
