Southampton’s New Place Hotel has unveiled its newly-refurbished Treehouse meeting space, which kicks off a string of new developments at the property.
The 110-bed hotel, which is owned and operated by Legacy Hotels who took over in March 2017, has opened up the Treehouse designed to target the meetings and events sector.
The new addition is part of an ongoing £1.3m refurbishment project at the hotel, which will see the whole property given a refresh.
The Treehouse is positioned in 32 acres of grounds surrounding the hotel, and takes inspiration from the idea of mindfulness, set up a ‘technology-free’ zone, with the deliberate absence of Wifi or AV.
The space takes things ‘back to basics’ with electricity, heating and furniture being the only inclusions and giving companies a blank canvas to work with.
General manager, Richard Powell commented: “New Place is continuously striving to be at the cutting edge of impactful conferencing. The Treehouse, with its alternative and creative approach, is yet another example of how New Place will inspire the minds and invigorate the performance of any business we welcome here.”
