BC Softwear has released a new range of eco-friendly, extra absorbent towels for use by hotels, spas and laundries.
It hopes the product will benefit hotels and their guests as an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional options.
The company’s Smartsoft brand already includes SupremeSoft bathrobes and spa linen, but now its SmartKnit towels are available for businesses to buy.
BC Softwear has drawn on 20 years of experience to bring a product it claims reduces environmental impact on two levels – at the manufacture stage and also once in the consumer’s hands.
With the tagline ‘Sustainable, Responsible, Luxury’, the towels offer an 8.5% energy saving in comparison with a traditional, less eco-friendly towel.
BC Softwear also claims a 9.2 % reduction in drying time and 60 % reduction of oil absorbency over traditional products.
It also suggests a 5% reduction in water consumption at the washing stage, and says the innovative knit means the material will not tear, making for a long-lasting towel.
The pre-existing bathrobe and spa linen ranges boast similarly impressive claims, such as being 70% energy saving and 40-50% reduced drying times.
The towels come in three sizes: hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet, as well as multiple thicknesses and colours.
BC Softwear owner and MD Barbara Cooke commented: “SmartSoft is an entire energy-saving collection designed to conserve energy and reduce costs right across your business. With the introduction of SmartKnit, BC Softwear can provide sustainable solutions from the hotel bedroom to the spa treatment couch.”
