A new sustainable treehouse hotel is to open in Marylebone London, debuting a new venture from Starwood Capital.
Treehouse London will launch on Langham Place and will feature Mexican restaurant Toca Madera, rooftop bar, The Nest and 95 bedrooms with nature-inspired interiors embracing physical nods to the forest, such as cuckoo clocks and sleeping bag throws.
Backyard will be the hotel’s coffee and wine bar, situated on check-in level on floor 15 of the building.
Treehouse London is the of its kind to open and will be run by SH Hotels & Resorts, an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group and operator of sustainable hospitality brand, 1Hotels in the US.
The new hotel strives to be sustainable, with a composting and recycling programme, a commitment to reducing single-use plastics and bedrooms fitted with organic cotton sheets and locally-sourced products.
Resident horticulturalists who give tours of local gardens, book clubs and poetry slams and the Treehouse app connects guests to neighbourhood favourites curated by local team members.
“It’s really exciting to launch our first Treehouse Hotel in one of the greatest cities in the world,” said CEO & chairman of Starwood Capital Group Barry Sternlicht. “I believe Treehouse, with its unique philosophy and playful aesthetic, will introduce a new kind of hospitality experience to the London market—fun, witty, surprising, and as much a destination for visitors as it is a local hangout.”
Treehouse London will also be operated in partnership with Cairn Hotel Group.
