Newly-opened Brighton Harbour Hotel appoints new general manager

The newly-opened Harbour Hotel in Brighton has announced the appointment of Ben Swindells as its new general manager.

The latest hotel to launch in the Harbour Hotels portfolio, the property welcomes Swindells who boasts an extensive record in hospitality sector, having held positions at IHG and The Hoxton.

One of his most impressive roles was hotel manager at IHG Stratford London, heading up the property during the 2012 Olympics.

Following this he moved onto The Hoxton Shoreditch where he was operations director from 2013 to the end of 2015, overseeing an extensive refurbishment of the hotel’s meeting rooms, public areas and 200 bedrooms.

Swindells will now manage the success of the Harbour Hotel Brighton, which opened its doors in August 2016. “I am delighted to be joining the Harbour Hotels Group at such an exciting stage, heading up the new Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa. Having graduated in Brighton, I have a particular fondness for this vibrant city – I am thrilled to ensure the continued growth of the hotel, further driving tourism and providing luxury facilities for locals and visitors alike.”

The 79-bedroom Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa is home to the brand’s award-winning Jetty restaurant concept, lively HarBAR and Harbour Spa. The hotel become the 13th property to open within the coastal group, which now spans various locations across the UK.

Having recently opened in Chichester, Guildford, Brighton and Bristol, the group is set to land in Southampton and Salcombe over the course of 2017/18.
