Yorkshire-based hotel operator Northern Powerhouse Developments has further expanded its growing portfolio of properties with the purchase of two more hotels.
The group last night announced it had added Halifax’s Imperial Crown Hotel and The Old Golf House Hotel on the outskirts of Huddersfield to take its collection of operational hotels across the country to 10.
This latest deal saw NPD acquire both properties from leisure group Corus Hotels.
The Imperial Crown will now undergo a significant renovation to become a 41-bed hotel with fine dining restaurant to be positioned within NPD’s Boutique Collection of properties.
The Old Golf House Hotel will become operational under the new owners with immediate effect and has also been announced as the new headquarters for the group going forward.
Talking about the latest acquisitions, NPD chairman Gavin Woodhouse commented: “As a Yorkshire-based company, I am very proud to have added these two hotels to our portfolio and we now look forward to bringing a new and exciting dining and hospitality experience to Halifax, Huddersfield and the surrounding areas.”
“Having acquired The Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough last year, the purchase of these two new hotels means we now own three properties in Yorkshire with plans to acquire a further two in the county over the coming months.”
