The owner of a Huddersfield B&B that appeared on the Channel Four show, Four in a Bed, has cut the asking price of the property in a bid to secure a quick sale.

Edge Accommodation has been on the market since mid 2018 having been opened in 2016 by owner John Whitworth.

Whitworth, 73, is now instructing Blacks Business Brokers to reduce the asking price of the property from £395,000 to £349,995, in a bid to drum up interest to allow him sell up and ‘go on holiday’.

The single-storey property includes four bedrooms, a guest lounge/study and a substantial bar/function room with a large dancefloor and seating for 50.

It also comes with a well-equipped kitchen and owner’s accommodation in the form of a large family room.

Whitworth said: “I have put my heart and soul into The Edge, and I still love welcoming guests who are as bowled over by the Edge’s views and décor as I am. After three years of giving my guests a fantastic experience, though, I’m ready for a holiday myself, so I’d like to get the property sold as quickly as possible and move on.”

Chelsea Melnyk, sales negotiator at Blacks Business Brokers, said: “The Edge Accomodation has traded solidly as a B&B and there are plenty of opportunities for a new owner to boost turnover by making more use of the function room or introducing evening meals.

“However, the property could also be converted into a completely different business, subject to planning permission. It’s in a superb location so a developer could potentially turn it into apartments or it could also make a great day nursery, for example.”
