Old Parsonage Hotel has unveiled its new walled terrace to complement its signature restaurant following an £80k investment.
The Parsonage Grill at the Grade-II listed building in Oxford has undergone a six-week refurbishment to reveal a new look with new vibrant colours, and a ‘big-leaved foliage’ that pays homage to the garden once owned by fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent.
Jeremy Mogford, founder and managing director at The Oxford Collection, which owns and operates Old Parsonage Hotel, said: “Yves Saint Laurent’s visionary use of colour and his love for Moroccan design were a huge inspiration. I want the Parsonage terrace to feel like an oasis in the centre of the city, just like our other beautiful terraces at Quod and Gees.”
The space has been updated with terracotta pots filled with banana plants, hostas, cordylines and fatsias. Teak furniture and reclaimed York stone paving has been cleaned, and complement two new parasols with lighting and heating.
A new cocktail, ‘It’s All About Yves’, has been created to celebrate the new look.
Founded in 1989 by Jeremy Mogford, Parsonage Grill is headed up by Russell Heeley and situated within the five-star 17th century Old Parsonage Hotel in central Oxford on Banbury Road.
Famous for its intimate, bohemian, clubby atmosphere, the Parsonage Grill and its private dining space, the ‘Pike Room’, displays a curated collection of eclectic oil paintings, original stone fireplaces, and leaded light windows.
Old Parsonage is home to 35 bedrooms featuring handmade beds, rich natural fabrics, unique Oxford sketches and marble bathrooms.
Founded by hotelier Jeremy Mogford in 1982, The Oxford Collection is an independently owned collection of two five-star luxury hotels – Old Bank and Old Paronage – and three restaurants, all in central Oxford.
