Two chefs at Palé Hall will be thrown into the spotlight when they compete on this year’s Bake Off: The Professionals, airing this month.
Adam Cleal, head pastry chef and colleague Sam Widnall, will represent the luxury five-star hotel in this year’s series, which will see 12 teams of two professional pastry chefs compete in a number of baking challenges.
Cleal started at Palé Hall in 2016 before leaving to work for Michael Caines at Lympstone Manor. He returned to the kitchen last year to take on the role as head pastry chef.
Widnall joined the Palé Hall team in June 2018 from the West Midlands. Profoundly deaf, he hopes that his experience will encourage and inspire others to follow their dreams.
The 18-bedroom Palé Hall was opened in September 2016 following an extensive restoration project by owners and hospitality newcomers, former headteacher Angela and former Vodafone boss Alan.
