The Vineyard Group has appointed a new general manager from the five-AA-red-star, two-Michelin star hotel, Gidleigh Park.
Paul Shanahan has joined the group to head up The Vineyard Hotel in Stockcross, having been stationed at the 26-bedroom Gidleigh Park for the past two years.
He takes over from Marwan Hemcahoui who left the five-star, 49-bedroom The Vineyard last month.
Prior to his position at Gidleigh Park,Shanahan was deputy general manager at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, where he was for over 10 years.
Managing director Andrew McKenzie said: “I have known Paul for many years and am delighted to get someone with his impeccable CV to head up our fantastic team at The Vineyard.
“I am looking forward to him bringing new ideas and initiatives to an already successful business and am excited to see what enhancements can be made under Paul’s direction.”
The Vineyard Group owns and operates two hotels in Newbury and manages hotels from the north east to Hertfordshire, from five-star to three-star and from 20 to 120 rooms.
