Peter and Lana de Savary have appointed a new general manager and head chef for the Merry Harriers, their pub with rooms in the Surrey Hills.
Jake Andreou joins as GM with a wealth of experience, having graduated from the De Vere Hotels training programme and from there moved on to Macdonald Hotels, followed by a number of years at LHMUK Hotels.
David Totterdall has been appointed head chef having held several chef and restaurant manager positions within hotels, banqueting halls and independent restaurants.
They will now implement ambitions plans for the inn and restaurant, including a seasonally-changing menu and new overnight activity packages to broaden the hotel’s appeal for high-end groups.
Danielle and Sam Montgomery-Page, who have managed the Merry Harriers since the de Savarys took ownership in 2017, will now be moving on as a result of the changes.
Since the acquisition, the de Savarys have invested significantly in upgrading the Merry Harriers, including a full refurbishment of the inn and garden rooms to the creation of four traditional inn bedrooms, and most recently, the addition of five luxury Shepherds Huts in spring 2019.
