Hotel owners and operators have the opportunity to cash in on Pinterest as consumer engagement levels with the social media platform soar during lockdown.
The creative website invites users to ‘pin’ or save images, posts and ideas as they search for inspiration during the pandemic, with searches rising 60% YOY and ‘saves’ increasing 40% YOY.
The number of boards created has also increased by 52%.
Pinterest boasts over 367 million users and is clearly providing a new marketing channel for any hospitality or hotel business by driving both awareness and sales potential through great imagery.
Hoteliers not already capitalising on the platform should consider creating their own page or board to stimulate visits to their website and convert this into bookings.
These latest statistics show that Pinterest is certainly worth focusing on, as despite the site not being as big as Facebook or Instagram, it is bound to play a pivotal role in the future of social commerce.
