Popular boutique in Leicestershire raises the bar with £1.5m investment

Sketchley Grange – Paul Noble – Bar Refurbishment (2)

A popular boutique hotel in Hinckley, Leicestershire is set to benefit from a £1.5m refurbishment programme that will see a new-look bar and lounge open its doors in the middle of next month.

Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa has recently unveiled a new gym space following a £47k renovation, and now work is underway to create a lounge and bar area, each offering ‘individual characteristics’.

Drew Keen of Keen As Mustard Design Studio has been hired to work on the project and is aiming to give the lounge a ‘softer feel’ using a colour palette of steely greys and blacks against pink velvet fabrics.

For the bar, high poseur tables and high-arm chairs will be in place against hues of mustard yellows and black.

The bar area will also feature seating booths with televisions which can be linked up to a laptop, designed to target the business travellers.

Work started at the beginning of April and is expected to be finished in mid-June.

Paul Noble, general manager of Sketchley Grange, says: “This refurbishment will make Sketchley Grange a really appealing venue for local people to come and enjoy a drink or a meal. The new look will match the good-quality, well-established range of food on offer.”

Originally established over 30 years ago, the four-star Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa is undergoing extensive refurbishment, ensuring its traditional character dovetails with the contemporary amenities and new guest bedrooms.
