Portobello Hotel acquired by A Curious Group of Hotels


Portobello Hotel in London’s Notting Hill has been bought by A Curious Group of Hotels for an undisclosed sum.

The Times reported this week that the 21-room boutique hotel has been sold by Tim and Cathy Herring, who opened the hotel in 1971, and their business partner Johnny Ekperigin.

A spokesperson for A Curious Group of Hotels confirmed to The Times: “We have acquired the hotel after making contact directly with the owners and reaching an agreement on a deal.”

The spokesperson also announced that details of a refurbishment of the property will be revealed in a few weeks.

Curious Group of Hotels, which is owned by Jessica Frankopan, runs three iconic hotels in Europe: Cowley Manor in the Cotswolds, Canal House in Amsterdam, L’Hotel in Paris’s Left Bank. The company also owns skincare company Green & Spring.
