Pride of Britain Hotels has announced that the family-run boutique Dunstane House has joined the consortium, becoming the first member hotel in Edinburgh.
The five-star hotel is a Victorian townhouse, which dates back to 1865, owned by Shirley and Derek Mowat and comprises 16 bedrooms, including four Orkney suites, with Vispring beds with Egyptian cotton bedlinen, velvet Chesterfield sofas, Persian rugs and original Scottish artwork.
Amenities include Nespresso coffee machines, Roberts radios and Noble Isle products.
Each of the four suites have been named after the owners’ Orcadian roots.
Dunstane House is also home to a newly-opened Ba’Bar & lounge, which serves relaxed all-day Scottish dining.
Shirley and Derek Mowat, owners of Dunstane House, said: “We are delighted to have been accepted into Pride of Britain Hotels’ prestigious hotel collection.”
Peter Hancock, chief executive, Pride of Britain Hotels, says: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Dunstane House to Pride of Britain Hotels. This is our fifth Scottish member in the collection and our first member hotel in the wonderful city of Edinburgh.”
Pride of Britain Hotels’ collection never exceeds more than 50 properties, with luxury hotels such as Lucknam Park, Dormy House and Sopwell House also part of the UK collection.
