Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus.
Taking to his personal Twitter account, he said he developed mild symptoms and following the advice of the chief medical officer, took a test which came out positive.
He said he is now self-isolating and working from home, and thanks to ‘the wizardry of modern technology’ is still continuing to communicate with his top team to lead the nation in the fight back against coronavirus.
Mr Johnson also thanked the NHS staff and said it was ‘very moving’ to join in last night’s Clap for the NHS.
“We are going to beat it and we will beat it together,” he added.
