A Southport-based hospitality company has announced plans to expand its operations with the addition of a boutique hotel in the town centre.
The Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group, which currently owns and operates three venues in Southport, plans to open an upmarket 27-room hotel, according to the Southport Visitor.
The group, which currently manages the Bold Hotel on Lord Street, which saw the benefit of a multimillion pound renovation investment in 2016, also manages Irish pub Punch Tarmey’s and adjacent nightclub Khepri.
The Bold Hotel was sold in December 2015 to new owners Mikhail Investments and was closed for two months to complete the transformation.
The firm has submitted plans to the local council and the new hotel, which is set to be built above the group’s existing nightclub, is expected to open in summer this year.
As part of the new hotel, the company plans to transform Khepri to an upmarket champagne and wine bar.
