A former Wells Cathedral School boarding house which could be converted into a B&B, subject to planning, has been placed on the market with Colliers International.
The Grade-II listed Canon Grange is close to Wells Cathedral and includes eight bedrooms and one flat.
The property is currently owned by Wells Cathedral School and is surplus to their requirements.
Canon Grange includes a modern domestic kitchen, bedroom, dining and living room on the ground floor, five bedrooms on the first floor and four more on the second floor.
Ed Jefferson from Colliers International’s hotels team said that townhouses of this quality and history are ‘very seldom’ brought to market.
The property is on the market with offers invited in excess of £550,000 and currently isn’t trading.
“Interested parties need to make their own assessment of the potential for trade and profitability as well as the y consents necessary for business use,” says Jefferson.
