Now as part of his new role, Barrigan will oversee the sales, revenue management and hotel marketing functions within the wider commercial team.

He said: “I’ve gathered extensive experience within the wider travel industry, and I’m looking forward to bringing that to my new role within RBH. The hotel sector is constantly changing and developing – there’s never a dull moment. I look forward to working with the RBH team to maximise owner returns.”

Helder Pereira, RBH’s chief executive officer, said: “Ian’s track record in the travel industry really does speak for itself, and we’re delighted to welcome him on board as a key addition to our strong, experienced Executive Committee.

“Our business is growing all the time – as is our ambition to become Europe’s leading independent hotel management company. Having a CCO of Ian’s calibre on board for the journey is a real coup for RBH.”
