Southcrest Manor

A specialist wedding hotel in Redditch that has seen a rise in guest numbers is setting plans in motion for an expansion.

The Southcrest Manor Hotel has had a healthy increase in trade over the past year and as a result has now secured a £1m loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial to provide funding for a full refurbishment.

The 97-year-old hotel will redevelop its 48 bedrooms, gardens and public areas, as well as install new hotel water and insulation systems.

The next 12 months will see the property expand with a new outdoor hot tub area, leisure and beauty facilities, plus the introduction of a new conservatory.

Southcrest Manor Hotel is independently owned by the Terry family.

Chris Osborne, general manager at Southcrest Manor Hotel, said: “Our refurbishment programme is part of our plan to become the best hotel destination in Redditch.

“Providing outstanding guest experience is something we’re passionate about and this latest investment will help us to keep making our facilities better and better.

Paul Warrington, regional director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Despite slower growth rates predicted this year, the hospitality sector is still buoyant and businesses like Southcrest Manor Hotel are reaping the benefits of this.

“At Lloyds Bank, we’re committed to helping Britain prosper, which is why we’ve pledged to increase our lending to SMEs by a further £2bn this year.”
