Newcastle-based Cairn Hotel Group has seen its turnover rise by more than £25m in the last financial year.
The family-run company, which manages more than 30 hotels, restaurants and bars in the UK, employs over 1,500 people across its various locations.
Accounts on Companies House show turnover for The Station Hotel (Newcastle) Ltd, which is part of the wider group, was up £25.4m (37%) to £93.9m.
This is in part down to a successful refurbishment programme and the addition of two new sites.
The group’s property portfolio is now valued at an estimated £329.1m, up from less than £300m the previous year, having spent £13.4m on the development of new and existing hotels throughout the year.
Speaking to Insider, Cairn Group’s finance director Richard Warren put on record his gratitude to all the company’s staff, while reiterating the company’s commitment to developing and improving a number of its current buildings.
