The owners of a restaurant with rooms in the picturesque New Forest are to retire after 25 years, bringing to market the Three Lions Restaurant off a guide price £1.1m.

The two-storey building set in 1 ½ acres of parkland in Stuckton, has been owned by owner operators Mike and Jayne Womersley for over two decades, who are now choosing to step back from the trade, tasking Christie + Co with the job of marketing the property.

The property comprises seven bedrooms and a 65-cover restaurant serving French and British cuisine, as well as four-bedroom, self-contained apartment.

With a well established reputation for quality, the Three Lions has received several accolades for its food, drink and accommodation, including a VisitEngland Silver award and Breakfast award and is featured in the Michelin Guide and Harden’s Best UK Restaurants 2018.

Richard Wood, senior business agent at Christie & Co’s Winchester office is handling the sale and comments: “This is an ideal opportunity for an owner operator to acquire a long-established business that offers a range of income streams and scope to further develop trade.

“The substantial freehold is set in some beautiful gardens in the popular New Forest, making it an ideal wedding venue or setting for special events. We anticipate high levels of interest for this fantastic restaurant with accommodation due to its high quality and unbeatable destination.”
