Shiva Hotels is to launch a new hotel in Covent Garden in four months’ time.

The former Kingsway Hall building was sold to Shiva Hotels in 2014 from Cola Holdings.

London-based design practice Tonik Associates, and architects Ray Hole, are behind the hotel’s new interiors, with general manager Christian Graf appointed to lead the team.

Central the hotel’s restaurant offering is Sycamore Vino Cucina, and The Balcony offering an all-day, globally-inspired menu.

This significant addition to the group ramps up Shiva Hotels’ expansion plan with the launch of The Guardsman in June.

Managing director, Rishi Sachdev states: “At Middle Eight we will choose to do things not because they are easy, nor because it’s what everybody does. We will choose to do them because they represent our collective vision of what’s right. We will inspire guests, teams, communities and partners to believe in and share our world view. We will challenge our competitors by disrupting the status quo and by offering our guests a genuinely new option: a conscious choice to experience luxury with purpose.”

Middle Eight will be taking reservations from February 2020 through its website.

The hotel is a proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, which represents the finest and most diverse portfolio of independent hotels and experiences globally.
