Get the look and longevity

Some 7,000 years after first being used, linen is recognised today as both desirable and a clear indication that you are dining in the finest of restaurants.

Tradelinens’ ‘Union’ cloth – combining cotton and linen – is incredibly popular as it provides the look, longevity and feel of both types of cloth in one.

The company supplies its ‘Union’ products for the Rosewood London’s dining areas, while other table linen clients include The Dorchester, Browns Hotel, Shangri-La hotel in The Shard and Wilton’s.

Clients often seek a personalised look, involving wider hems, hemstitched hems (with holes all round), cording or mitred corners on four sides.

The 50/50 range

Italian brand Pinti Inox designed a cutlery range named ’50/50’, as part of the Treasure collection. As its name suggests, its uniqueness lies in its two contrasting tones: the first half shows the standard mirror-polished item while the other half has received an extra PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating giving it a black colour.

The PVD coating is either applied on the handle or on the head of the piece, depending on the pattern.

The following patterns are available: Bramante, Hermitage and Ellade.

It comes in three distinct shapes – rectangular serving plates and flat and deep coupe plates, with prices starting from £9.98 per unit.

It’s one of a number of options from Rak Porcelain, available through specialist tableware and glassware provider, the IG Group.

Further information on this range – and many others – is available on the website.

Its tactile and textured surface, finished in matte black, emanates artisanal style making it perfect for any fine dining milieu. The range uses the colours and aesthetics found in natural rock landscapes to create its distinctive slate-esque appearance.

Aside from its strong visual credentials, Black Shale performs well in a commercial environment. Being made from densely fired porcelain makes the range robust and its dishwasher and microwave safe properties are equally beneficial.
