Sopwell House in St Albans has appointed a new restaurant and cocktail bar manager.
The country house boutique, which is owned and operated by AB Hotels, has welcomed Aurore Lagabec to the role, overseeing the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette restaurant and the hotel’s cocktail lounge which overlooks the 12 acres of gardens.
Lagabec, originally from Brittany, joins from her position as restaurant manager of Pascal Aussignac’s Club Gascon in Smithfield’s London and has a wealth of experience with industry stalwarts such as Gordon Ramsay and Tom Aitkens.
She moved to London in 2000 and started her career at Gordon Ramsay’s three Michelin-starred restaurant on Royal Hospital Road. During her five years at there, she progressed from hostess, to reception and reservations manager, to guest relations manager.
She then worked for Tom Aikens and restaurateur Marlon Abela, and then moved to Club Gascon in 2014.
Sopwell House said she ‘prides herself on looking after and bringing joy to her guests’ and is looking forward to sharing her experience and knowledge with the team’.
Sopwell House is headed up by general manager Thomas Garlich who joined in April 2017. Alongside the 2 AA Rosette restaurant, the hotel is home to a brasserie and spa and leisure facilities.
