St James’s Hotels is to begin the multi-million pound transformation project of Stratford’s historic Falcon hotel in April.

The hotel group snapped up the Chapel Street property, which dates back to the late 15th century, in 2014 and will soon start on the work with a view to be completed by next year.

Once finished the hotel will be rebranded as a Hotel Indigo.

The project will see a new restaurant, bar and lounge installed, as well as a new gym, meeting room and kitchen.

Altogether, the Falcon hotel is home to 83 bedrooms, two restaurants and two bars.

Speaking to the Stratford Observer, Falcon general manager Jason Mayglothling said: “Over the years our hotel has suffered from a lack of investment so you can imagine the delight when we were told about the forthcoming renovations.

“By carefully phasing each stage of the project, this significant upgrade will be managed to have minimal impact on guest experience, whilst we roll out our new high-specification accommodation.”
