Monica Or, founder and hospitality consultant for Star Quality Hospitality Consultancy is becoming a regular at the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards after signing up to sponsor for a fourth consecutive year.
Or, who first partnered with Boutique Hotelier in 2015, will once again support the Customer Service Star accolade at the 2018 ceremony held in London on the first night of the Independent Hotel Show.
Or says that it is ‘so important’ to reward and recognise staff in the sector, who play such an integral role within their hotels.
Last year she presented Alice Garbuio with the title, who beat off stiff competition to be crowned the winner within her category.
Or says: “As a hospitality consultant I always say to my clients if you look after your staff, they will look after your business. I support these awards each year as I feel it is so important that hotels recognise their individual team members for their commitment and dedication. Day in, day out they go above and beyond creating memorable guest experiences. Often their unsung heroes are forgotten about. These awards give us an opportunity to shout about how wonderful these team members are and to celebrate their achievements.
Customer Service Star is one of 11 category awards to be given out on the night of the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards, which honour staff in a number of roles including Housekeeping Manager, Bar Manager and General Manager of the Year.
“It is a fun event for all involved. A great way to show off how wonderful our industry truly is,” she adds.
Or is also the Amazon Best Selling author of ‘Star Quality Hospitality – The Key to a Successful Hospitality Business’ and ‘Star Quality Experience – The Hotelier’s Guide to Creating Memorable Guest Journeys’. Attendees at previous awards have received copies of her books, and at the last event her infamous ‘Starlight’ teddy bear. Monica is preparing another surprise gift for all those that attend what promises to be another memorable night of celebrations as Boutique Hotelier marks it’s fifth year for the awards.
