Award-winning wedding venue Stradey Park Hotel & Spa in Llanelli has been sold after 20 years under the ownership of Gryphon Leisure Ltd.
The 77-bedroom four-star business in South West Wales was sold to Sterling Woodrow Investments off an asking price of £3.2m.
The stone-built manor house, which dates back to 1912, also boasts conference and meeting rooms, plus spa facilities and treatment rooms and has built up a strong reputation for weddings over the last two decades.
Gryphon Leisure has invested heavily in the business during its ownership, with the directors now wishing to semi-retire to pursue other interests.
The business has been transferred as a going concern, with no impact or disruption to the day to day running of the hotel, accommodation, wedding or event bookings.
Corrina Jones, senior Business agent at Christie & Co, handled the sale and comments: “Our clients, the directors of Gryphon Leisure Ltd and Operational Director Angela Saunders have worked tirelessly to make the hotel a success since they bought the business over twenty years ago.
“The hotel is well known and loved by local residents and visitors to the area and Angela specifically has been very hands on and taken the hotel from humble beginnings to the only quality four-star hotel & spa in Llanelli but is now looking forward to stepping down from the business and enjoying a well-deserved retirement and focusing on remaining business interests.”
