London’s Strand Palace Hotel has announced the appointment of a new commercial director.
The hotel has promoted Benjamin Chapman to the role, following almost 10 years of service at the property having started in 2007 as group reservation supervisor.
His most recent position was director of revenue.
As part of his new role, Chapman will join the hotel’s senior management team, responsible for revenue, marketing, sales and reservation departments.
He says: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity as commercial director. The Strand Palace, as an independent hotel, has been integral in my growth and development. I’m excited for 2018 and the new challenges that lie ahead next year, as well as in leading the team around me and providing them with the same development opportunities that I have benefited from.”
General manager David MacRae added: “I’m very pleased for Ben. This well-deserved promotion is testament to his hard work and commitment to the hotel over the past 10 years. It is a great example of what you can achieve with the correct attitude and effort.”
Strand Palace Hotel London dates back to 1909 and is home to 758 bedrooms, and five food and beverage outlets.
