SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT: Giftpro takes ‘major steps’ to reduce impact on environment

Giftpro has become the first gift voucher platform to take pro-active steps to reduce its impact on the environment.

The company, which is an online platform that allows hotels, restaurants, spas and other venues to sell and manage gift vouchers, is taking major leaps towards becoming a more sustainable brand, teaming up with global climate protection partners, MyClimate to offset all the carbon emissions associated with gift voucher packaging and transport.

Giftpro has also begun a new partnership with Nimbus, a carbon-neutral hosting supplier, so all of the emissions associated with the services the company provides are being offset on their client’s behalf, at no additional cost.

MyClimate is working on rainforest reforestation projects worldwide and the carbon credits from Giftpro are being put towards the production of solar cooking stoves and reforestation in less economically developed countries.

Will Howard, managing director at Giftpro says: “We are thrilled to be making these positive steps and playing our part in the major shift that we are seeing within the hospitality industry to ensure a brighter, greener future.

“We are continually looking for new ways in which we can be kinder to the environment and look forward to implementing many more environmentally friendly switches across everything we do at Giftpro.”

The company has now set itself the aim to become 100% carbon neutral and is looking to address its team’s individual emissions, such as travel and computer usage, along with other business-wide energy usage to meet this target.

Giftpro is a customisable, user-friendly online store that allows hotels, restaurants, spas and other venues to sell and manage gift vouchers. Leaders in the hospitality gifting space, their clients include The Ivy Collection, Harbour Hotels, Artist Residence, The Pig and Searcys.
