The new venture from Serena Von Der Heyde and the team behind Georgian House Hotel in London is to open in the Lake District in February 2020.
Earlier this year BH announced that Von Der Heyde had acquired Oak Bank Hotel in Grasmere from Glynis and Simon Wood, purchasing the freehold off an asking price of £1.5m.
The newly-designed Victorian House Hotel will open early next year, after ‘substantial investment’ and will comprise 19 bedrooms and open-plan shared spaces with ‘modern romantic’ design elements to complement original features.
Speaking at the time of acquisition, Von Der Heyde said: “I am very excited to be taking on a business in Grasmere, an incredible guest destination that provides many opportunities for adventurers, food fanatics and those who just want to relax and recharge in stunning surroundings.”
Von Der Heyde’s family built Georgian House Hotel in 1851 and the property has remained in the family ever since.
