A new boutique hotel is set to be brought to life in the popular Temple Bar area of Dublin after a plan was given the green light by officials.
Dublin City Council has granted permission for a new 12-bedroom hotel at the corner of Merchant’s Arch and Temple Bar Square, which would see a new five-storey building created.
The proposal would also see the demolition of an existing two-storey building, which currently houses the Irish Pub Shop, to make way for the new development.
The owner of the building Sandra Doone, said the proposed hotel would “contribute positively to Temple Bar Square and surrounding environment of the city”.
Sandra’s husband Thomas owns the adjoining Merchant’s Arch pub.
