The Cloud Hotel in the New Forest has been brought to market with Savills for £2.35m.

The 17-bedroom hotel has been owned and operated by Chris Legg and Stewart Wills since 2017 after the duo acquired the property off an asking price of £1.7m.

Previously, the hotel had been owned and operated for more than four decades by former Tiler Girl, Avril Owton MBE.

The property was originally built in the early 1900s forming two pairs of residential cottages and alongside the bedrooms comprises a 50-cover restaurant, conservatory and 30-cover function room.

The site also comes with planning permission to convert the property back to its original state as four cottages with an eight bedroom B&B, tea rooms and manager’s house.

Legg and Wills submitted plans for the extension in 2018, one year after they bought the Cloud Hotel.

Adam Bullas, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills Southampton, says: “This is a great opportunity to acquire a New Forest Hotel in a stunning position within the National Park. It will appeal to both operators looking to continue trading the hotel or alternatively operators / developers looking to implement the planning permission and rationalise the number of bedrooms whilst at the same time creating four attractive cottages.”
