The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow has completed the second phase of its refurbishment which sees the opening of its brand new restaurant, Plume@Feathers.
New owners Crest Hotels, marked the occasion with a VIP event of over 50 local suppliers, customers and dignitaries before the doors officially opened to customers on Friday 18 October for its first weekend of full service.
The restaurant was officially opened with a ribbon cutting by the Mayor, Cllr Tim Gill and Mayoress, Mary Gill.
The new developments marks a ‘key stage’ in the relaunch of The Feathers, which was acquired by Crest Hotels in December 2018.
The firm is investing more than £1.5m to re-position the 40-bedroom property, which includes an aesthetic makeover to public areas, rooms and the function suite, as well as completely new plumbing throughout.
Group operations director, Jason Hiley said: “The official opening of the restaurant marks a key stage in the progress of the circa £2m refurbishment and our aim is to establish the Feathers as a dining destination for the whole region. We have an incredible catering team and head chef in place, so are now focused on achieving our two AA Rosette’s within the next six months.”
Under its previous owners, The Feathers Hotel was closed in 2017 after a devastating outbreak of legionnaire’s disease.
