The future of hospitality is hot on the agenda for Master Inholders Conference 2017


The 2017 Master Innholders general managers’ conference will be all about the future of hospitality, when it takes place in January at the newly-opened Hilton London Bankside.

The 24th annual conference, titled The Next Generation. An Industry Revolution, will be held on 16th and 17th January and has been designed to educate and inspire delegates on the future of the industry.

Speakers at the two-day event will outline the year’s hottest trends to be aware of and the newest legislation to come into play, allowing hoteliers to start 2017 the right way.

Peter Hancock FIH MI, chief executive, Pride of Britain Hotels and judge of the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards is back by popular demand and will chair and share his witty expertise throughout the event.

Debbie Taylor FIH MI, chairman of the conference committee and regional managing director at Macdonald Hotels, said: “This year’s title represents the cyclical evolvement of the hospitality industry and the generations of strategies, design, leadership and customers. Some of the confirmed speakers to date include:

Leo Johnson, Presenter of Radio 4’s FutureProofing will take to the stage as a keynote speaker and explain his theory of there being three possible cities of the future and how businesses can thrive within them.

Discussing the future of the hotel industry, keynote speaker Olga Polizzi, deputy chairman & director of design at Rocco Forte Hotels, will explore the many ways that hotels can adapt to survive the modern world without losing the art of traditional hospitality.

Dr Dorian Dugmore, chief executive of the Wellness Academy, will return to the conference for a second year to discuss the benefits of corporate wellness and how this can be integrated into the operations of a hotel.

Former chairman of the Master Innholders and managing director of Red Carnation Hotels Jonathan Raggett FIH MI will chair a panel discussion that will stretch the boundaries of the industry and raise some topical issues for the industry.

Tiffany St James, co-founder of Transmute, is set to share her ideas and examples of techniques that are designed to inspire operators in the digital art of hotel social media and technology.

Ufi Ibrahim FIH, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, will outline new legislation affecting the industry over the coming year and discuss the impact they may have on hotels.

Business consultant and motivational speaker, Nigel Risner will demonstrate to delegates how they can operate their businesses at peak performance whilst winning the hearts and minds of their teams.
